You're also not suppose to cut your nails either. I Think its something with the ghosts taking your nails and tracking you down... Or something ;;; BLAH

I think that's all there is too it lol. The problem with a lot of local folklore is that they don't know much about it either, other than the basic fact like "whistling at night is bad." The ones who tell these stories, like my grandmother, are second generation Japanese living in Hawaii, the first generation died out long ago so we have to rely on an aging population for folklore like this.

There are lots of those superstitions, like where you have to keep your thumbs tucked in when a herse goes by.

I hate ghosts a lot too, but I love to hear stories about them lol.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen a herse on the road in a while.

Hmmm now that I think about it, I havent seen one either...
